1. First, clarify which products the packaging machine you intend to purchase will be used for. Some packaging machinery manufacturers offer a wide range of products, and when buying a packaging machine, buyers often hope that one device can package all their product varieties. In fact, dedicated automatic equipment usually delivers better packaging results than multi-purpose compatible machines. Generally, one packaging machine should not be used to package more than 3 to 5 product varieties. Additionally, products with significantly different external dimensions should be packaged by separate machines whenever possible.

2. High cost-effectiveness is the primary principle. Currently, the quality of packaging machines produced in China has improved significantly compared to the past. This is particularly true for pillow-type packaging machines, whose export volume far exceeds import volume. Therefore, it is entirely possible to purchase machines with import-level quality at the price of domestic machines.

3. Whenever possible, choose well-known, long-established packaging machine enterprises, as they can guarantee product quality. Opt for machine models with mature technology and stable quality to achieve faster and more stable packaging, along with low energy consumption, minimal manual operation, and a low rejection rate. Packaging machines are consumable-equipment. If you purchase low-quality machines, the waste of packaging film accumulated in daily production will be substantial—especially given the current rise in packaging material costs.

4. If you conduct an on-site inspection, pay attention to both major aspects and small details, as details often determine the overall quality of the machine. Bring samples for test runs whenever possible.

5. In terms of after-sales service, the enterprise should have a good reputation within the industry. Prompt after-sales service (with technicians available on call) is particularly crucial for food processing enterprises. For example, mooncake manufacturers only have a short two-month production period each year. If a packaging machine malfunctions during production and the problem cannot be resolved immediately, the losses will be considerable.

6. Prioritize packaging machines trusted by peers.

7. Whenever possible, select machines that are easy to operate and maintain, come with complete accessories, and are equipped with a fully automatic continuous feeding mechanism. This can improve packaging efficiency, reduce labor costs, and is conducive to the long-term development of the enterprise.
